Brixton Bulls were the second most nominated club across the awards
Club Chair, Philippa Robson, was awarded the Services to Rugby League Award at the recent London Rugby League Community Club Awards, hosted by the London Rugby League Foundation.

This contribution was rightly recognised by the judging panel, with Philippa also receiving nominations from a number of other clubs.

Bulls come from behind to beat Elmbridge 34-30 in the Grand Final!
Jack Hancock was the hat trick hero with tries from Paddy James, Ted Stone, and Ugo Onyeji, and conversions from Josh Burke and Adam Sheehy.
There were unreal performances throughout the entire team, with a special shout out to Ted Rackley who dominated against Elmbridge’s middles. It was a hell of a game to watch and to be a part of, and an unreal feeling to come back from defeat in the final last year to lift the trophy for the fourth time.

Brixton Bulls U12s were crowned the Champions of London & the South East of England after their 34-4 victory over Bromley Bengals in the Grand Final at Hemel Stags yesterday.
After a nervy start from both sides, the Bulls began to exert control as their set completion improved, and captain Zidour opened the scoring with a typically powerful run after some good work from dummy half by Player of the Match, Ryan Jones. The duo repeated the trick a few moments later, with Zidour scoring his second after an offload from Jones while half back, Robson, slotted both goals. Having absorbed some pressure in their own half from Bromley, the Bulls then produced a great team try just before half time, with winger Kufuor touching down unopposed in the corner after great ball movement from Robson and left center, Barry.
With a 16-0 lead at half-time the Bulls were in a strong position, but knew that Bromley would hit back. However, another powerful run from Zidour, and a show and go near the line from Robson put the game beyond doubt at 28-0, with Robson kicking one of the goals and hooker Jones the other. Bromley weren't finished yet and managed to squeeze over in the corner. However, Brixton then constructed their best set of the game, culminating with stand off Ipoli collecting a double miss pass from Robson to touch down wide on the right. Jones knocked over the conversion to wrap up the game 34-4.

U12s win but U10s are beaten in great event
Brixton Bulls played host to Keighley Albion U10s and U12s at Streatham & Croydon Rugby Club on Saturday. Albion brought a touring party of 35 players, and close to 100 supporters for the trip to London.
Keighley were too good for the Bulls in the U10s, being both well drilled and also having a significant size advantage. However, the Bulls never gave up, and scored several good tries, including long range efforts from Thomas, Marmont-Robertson, Parker-Sumner and Jones, while Gyoni showed both great technique and extraordinary bravery in his tackling. There is plenty to build on for the future, as the side contained a number of Year 4s, while the Keighley team was all Year 5s. Jackson was nominated the Bulls' Player of the Match.
In the U12s, the tables were turned, with the Bulls showing a good combination of pace, power and skill along with excellent organisation from half-back, Robson. They ran out 28-4 winners with tries from Zidour, Barry, Jones and Marshall, while Robson kicked 4 of 5 conversions. Loose forward Zidour's strong running was particularly impressive, while hooker, Jones, was awarded the Bulls' Player of the Match thanks to his quality distribution, sniping runs and brave defence.
Many thanks to all the Bulls supporters, and particularly to Rugby League Legends, Paul Sculthorpe and Martin Offiah, for their good luck messages.

The Bulls raced to an early lead thanks to tries from loose forward Zidour, winger Marshall and half-back Robson. Elmbridge then hit back to set up a grand stand finish in the final quarter. The Bulls managed to close out the game, however, helped by a typically powerful run from Zidour, a skilful chip and chase by Robson, and a spectacular length of the field effort by dummy half, Jones.
Many thanks to Elmbridge Eagles for hosting the game, and making the Bulls so welcome.
